SFA (Social Finance Association) is an association created in 2021 with the mission to promote social finance in Romania. The association aims to support local entrepreneurs to develop social projects, to overcome financial barriers, through financial education and consultancy for easier access to finance.

SFA was born in order to be a promoter and pillar for AFIN IFN SA with which it collaborates and whose financial pillar it complements with specialized assistance and know-how in the field of social financing. SFA is a shareholder of AFIN IFN SA in which it holds a 6% share.

The Association carries out its activity in the field of social economy, according to the principles stipulated by Law nr. 219/2015 on Social Economy.

SFA is the only associate member in Romania of the European Federation of Banks for Ethical and Alternative Finance (FEBEA) . The Federation brings together 30 financial institutions from 15 countries in Europe and aims to develop and promote ethical and social finance principles in Europe.
